My target 600 kms
I’m riding this October to fund critical therapy, vital equipment, connection and moments of joy for over 1,800 Brainwave children living with brain disorders across Australia.
On average, 10 children a day in Australia are diagnosed with a brain illness or injury - life-changing conditions like epilepsy, stroke, cerebral palsy, brain injuries and rare neurological disorders. That’s more than 3,000 families, every year, suddenly navigating fear, uncertainty, and overwhelming challenges. Brainwave Australia is the only national charity dedicated to walking alongside these families.
This October, I’m riding to raise funds for critical therapy, vital equipment, hospital support, and moments of joy for over 1,800 children supported by Brainwave. From hospital packs and mobility aids to family camps and connection-focused support, Brainwave help families feel less alone and more equipped to face what lies ahead.
Your donation is more than a number - it provides tangible support for a family navigating a child's brain disorder. It helps provide therapy, essential equipment, and gives access to programs that bring hope and connection when it’s needed most.
Please support my ride and let's stand with these families.
Together, we ride.

My Updates
One week down…just over 3 weeks to go!!
Wednesday 7th Oct To be honest with everyone I was a little unsure how I would fare in this fundraising event - just 3 months with a new hip and a stroke just hours after that major surgery meant my recovery was harder than normal!! Prior to the surgery I was cycling almost everyday and only restarted recently - I have managed 144km this week (may do a bit more later) but am feeling the effects of pushing on the right hip. My fitness will need time to recover and the brain injury is a work in progress - I think have been fortunate!!!! Thank you everyone who has donated!! Rob Share
Rideforthekids Fundraiser
Wednesday 30th Sep Tomorrow is the start day for Rideforthekids event and I am aiming to complete 600km for the month….mostly outdoors and perhaps some indoors on Zwift! Having recently experienced a brain injury myself I know first hand some of the difficulties these children face and can imagine how hard it must be for families! I set a goal of $100 and am already close to that…even $5 would help!! Thank you for your support! Rob ShareThank you to my Sponsors
